Believe it or not, 2018 is coming to a close. As we get ready to spread holiday cheer and look forward to a brand-new year, we’d like to take a moment to look back at all the major moments of 2018 for TheBestIRS Team.
Best of Staffing®
For the sixth year in a row, TheBestIRS earned Inavero’s Best of Staffing® Client and Talent award. Less than 2% of staffing firms in the U.S. & Canada receive this prestigious accolade. As we continue to work hard to meet the needs of our clients and candidates, we are proud that our clients are continually satisfied.
TheBestIRS would like to send our sincerest condolences to everyone that has been affected by the devastating effects of Hurricane Florence, Hurricane Michael, and the California wildfires this year. Many of our clients’ and their policyholders were greatly affected by these catastrophes. We deployed hundreds of claims adjusters to help assess damage and get the claims process going for those affected. While the damage was some of the worst many of us had seen, the ability to begin getting people’s lives back on track is something we are all looking towards for 2019.
We aren’t done yet! TheBestIRS has made several new additions to our team this year.
Nicole Herbert came on as our Vice President of Finance:
Nicole began her career at TheBestIRS as Controller in 2018. She was promoted to Vice President of Finance in September of 2018. Before working for TheBestIRS, Nicole was an Accounting Clerk for a CPA firm. She then worked in the healthcare field specializing in Anesthesia and Pain Management. As Vice President of Finance, Nicole is an auditing expert who is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial functions for TheBestIRS. She manages payroll, accounting, and assists with external audits. She also completes financial reports and conducts financial analysis. Nicole has over 10 years of experience in Accounting.
Wendy Smith-Lowe as our Director of HR:
Wendy is a Certified Human Resources Professional with over 25 years of progressive HR experience. Her work with her previous employers includes Westin Hotels, Hertz Rent A Car and Schumacher Mercedes-Benz. These locations were always focused on customer service, excellence, and being the best in their field. She is a native of Arizona graduating from Arizona State University with a BS in Business Administration. She has a diverse background in a variety of human resources functions and activities. These include but are not limited to, employee relations and employment law, supervisory experience, workforce planning and analysis, regulatory compliance, policies and procedures, benefits and compensation, training, career coaching, and project management. Wendy’s goal is to always provide superior service to her team, be collaborative and innovative and provide service excellence.
Julia Naumann as our Vice President of Operations:
Julia joined TheBestIRS in the Fall of 2018 as Vice President of Operations. Prior to joining TheBestIRS, Julia worked for State Farm® Insurance for 19 years, where she gained extensive claims experience. Throughout her work history, Julia has worked across large and diverse organizations during times of rapid growth and change. Julia excels in the overall business functionalities of claims, project management, strategic planning, and organizational design & development. As part of TheBestIRS Leadership Team, Julia assists in creating organizational efficiencies, streamlining processes, and managing the overall operations. Julia currently has her CPCU designation and is on the CPCU Diversity Committee.
Courtney Cooke as our Vice President of Business Development
Courtney Cooke began her career with TheBestIRS in the Fall of 2018 as Vice President of Business Development. Prior to joining the team, Courtney worked for State Farm Insurance® for more than sixteen years. During this time, she gained a wealth of knowledge regarding claims operations, most within the catastrophe claims related environment. Courtney specializes in project management, talent and leadership development, operational effectiveness, vendor relations, and quality assurance, all of which allow her to truly understand the needs of our customers. Courtney is dedicated to creating, cultivating and retaining business relationships with clients and industry partners.

In addition to our new team members, we have also had the pleasure of promoting many of our current employees. Carla Ramos and Ryan Aholt were both promoted to Executive Vice Presidents of TheBestIRS. Kiley Phillips was promoted to Vice President of Marketing, Erika Robinson has been promoted to Director of Client Services, Amy Luter has been promoted to Director of Logistics and Support Services, and Manny Thaler has been promoted to Director of Technology.
