Independent Adjusters, Prepare for Hurricane Lane

A potential hurricane warning has been issued for several areas of Hawaii including Hawaii’s Big Island, Oahu, Honolulu and the islands of Lanai, Molokai, and Kahoolawe. Forecasters are tracking Hurricane Lane on the Pacific coast of Hawaii. Hurricane Lane has disastrous potential, as it recently reached a category 5 strength.

TheBestIRS Compliance Department has put together some information for our independent adjusters to prepare for any possible catastrophe deployments:

In order to handle claims for Hawaii without an active Hawaii Adjuster License, the adjuster must:

  • Be physically located in Hawaii
  • Have an established Hawaii business and/or mailing address
  • Have an active Resident License in their home state.

Those that carry an active Hawaii Adjuster license are good to handle Hawaii claims anywhere.
